It's summer. It's a good time to be alive. I'm still learning what it means to be a breast cancer survivor. Today I'm thinking it's all about being happy about who I am right now, right here. Alive and well.
It was May 15, 2007, when my world started to change. That was the day when Dr. Paredes told me that the tumor in my breast was malignant. First the world around me ceased to exist and then everything went into fast gear. Surgery in June. The first chemo treatment in August. Since then I've been living in a pseudo reality. Just now the clouds are thinning and I'm seeing my life in a new light. This blog is my way of getting my thoughts together ... maybe I'll learn something here.
